YOGAWOMAN
A Fundraiser for Women Helping Women

YOGAWOMAN TRAILER

YOGAWOMANYOGAWOMAN travels to nine nations around the world to show how women, led by a new generation of dynamic female teachers, including Patricia Walden, Seane Corn, among others, Shiva Rea is replacing the formerly dominant, rigid style of yoga with a distinctly feminine practice that honors intuition, family, flow, connection, community, activism, and the cyclical nature of our lives. Together they, and many others, have created a global phenomenon that has changed the face of yoga forever.

YOGAWOMAN is narrated by Academy Award nominee Annette Benning. 84 min.

One screening only on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Plans also call for a complimentary yoga class, taught by Gabriella Bengis, and open to all (WOMEN & MEN) attendees from 6:00pm - 7:00pm (prior to the premiere of YOGAWOMAN) on the A&B Amphitheater Lawn at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

The Maui Film Festival's intention is to set a new record for the largest yoga class ever help in Hawaii. NYC holds the Guinness World Book Record for a single yoga class at 10,000 people at one class (at Central Park.) That's only .00125% of NYC's population. A similar percentage turnout on Maui, with a population of just over 150,000 would result in 200 people participating. The Festival's hope is to to be able to pull together at least 500 (and ideally twice that many) people for the class.

The premiere of YOGAWOMAN is fundraiser for a Women Helping Women, whose mission is to end domestic violence through advocacy, education and prevention; and to offer safety, support and empowerment to women and children, victims of domestic violence.

Admission to YOGAWOMAN will be $16 for those using one admission of a "4 Admissions for $64" Family & Friends YOGAWOMAN Pass. Single tickets are available for $20. Advance sale tickets and passes now available at the MACC. Visit MauiFilmFestival.com for complete details, including production credits and interviewees, on YOGAWOMAN as well as to view its trailer. Complimentary Tickets and Passes are not valid for this fundraiser.
