Maui Arts & Cultural Center - Maui Film FestivalAs always, there will be Great Music, Flirting, Meals & Munchies, Organic Wine, Special Cocktails and Mouthwatering Desserts, Sweet Treats and Herbal Teas and Coffee available in the CandleLight Cafe in Yokouchi Founder's Court at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Caterers this year, with service starting at 6:00pm, include:

  • Cafe O'Lei Restaurant (12/17)
  • Consuelo's Catering (12/18, 12/19, 12/26, 12/27, 12/28 and 1/3)
  • Vasi's Gourmet Catering (12/20 and 12/21)
  • Serpico's (12/22, 12/23, 12/29 and 12/30)
Special Cocktails and Holiday Concoctions will include: Spiced Rum or Brandy with Eggnog, Champagne with splashes of Chambord or Cranberry or Pomegranate Juice, Top Shelf Margaritas, and Baileys Irish Creamy drinks with Frangelico or Kahlua. The Bar opens each day at 4:00pm.

We'll also have great music from Maui Own and Maui's Best DJ Ged, who'll be spinning the hippest Holiday Season Music Every Night during FirstLight and will also be 'bookending" the live music on the nights of December 17th (Opening Night) and December 28th and 29th and on January 3rd, 2009!

Mike Buono, on traps, is putting together these great nights of Instumental Improvisation that the Maui Film Festival, with Mike's agreement, is calling MUSICAL CHAIRS as a way of encapsulating the ever-changing permutations of the musicians playing on any given night.  In addition to Mike Buono, these amazing Maui musicians also include: Marcus Johnson on Electric and Acoustic Bass, Gene Argel on Piano and all keyboard instuments, Id on Electric Violin,  David Choy on Saxophone, Sal Godinez on Keyboards, Tato on Percussion, Doug White on Bass,Makana Argel on Vocals and Guitar and Bob Harrison on Acoustic Bass.

We'll also have some amazing young musicians from Haleakala Waldorf School, including Lily Meola and Cole Whitney, as well as some wonderful and inspiring acoustic piano stylings from Bruce Guerin, Nadama and Lance Whitney from the Castle Theater stage.
