How do I get tickets for the Tributes? top



All 2011 Tributes will take place at the Celetial Cinema before the films.

Any Maui Film Festival Pass, except the Rising Star, will grant entry to the Celestial Cinema Programs.  You can also purchase a single ticket for the Celestial Cinema for the night of the Tribute that you are interested in.

Where is the Celestial Cinema?  top



The Celestial Cinema is at the Wailea Gold & Emerald Golf Course, on the amphitheater-like slopes of the golf-course training facility.

Is There a Shuttle Service?   top



A free shuttle, courtesy of Akina Aloha Tours, will take festival attendees to and from the Celestial Cinema and Special Event venues. Celestial Cinema shuttles run continuously starting at 6:15 pm. Taste of Wailea shuttles begin at 4:15 pm. All shuttles will return to the Special Event Parking Lot at the end of each Special Event and Celestial Cinema Feature Film.

Shuttles will run from the Celestial Cinema to all 10:00 pm Special Events at the conclusion of the Celestial Cinema 8:00 pm Feature Film. Return shuttles will drop off guests at Wailea resort properties and the Wailea Event Parking Lot upon request.

For guests staying in Wailea Resorts, complimentary shuttle service from the hotel main entrance is available to Celestial Cinema and all events except Filmmakers Panels.

There is no shuttle service to Maui Arts and Cultural Center.

 


Where is Celestial Cinema Will Call?   top



Celestial Cinema Will Call is at the ticketing counter in the lobby of Gannon’s Restaurant and the Gold & Emerald Golf Course Pro Shop.  The shuttle buses will drop you off right in front of it.

 


What is a good night to bring my kids to the films?   top



Kids 12 and under are free at Celestial Cinema on Wednesday (June 15) and Sunday (June 19).  Every other night they are $10, although this is not meant to imply that the films these nights are appropriate for children.  Celestial Cinema children’s tickets must be purchase by phone or at the door.

MACC films are the same price for everyone.

Parents are urged to research films for appropriateness for their children.

 


How is Seating Arranged at the Celestial Cinema?   top


Seating at Celestial Cinema is on the grass, and is arranged on a first come first serve basis. To make things more comfortable, please feel free to bring your own low back beach chair, blankets and pillows, or towels to sit on. You may also rent a low back beach chair for $5 per night. Rentals require a $15 deposit refunded upon return of chair.

 


Can I bring my own Food and Beverages to Celestial Cinema?   top


No outside food, beverages, or coolers are allowed. 

 


Are Food and Beverages Available at the Celestial Cinema?   top


Yes. Gannon’s Restaurant prepares a mouth-watering array of options for sale at the Celestial Cinema.  Nightly offerings will include salads, wraps, sandwiches, and delicious hot dinners, including vegetarian.  Ono Gelato and Maui Kazowie Popcorn will be there to satisfy your sweet tooth with freshly made gelato, baked goods, and kettle popcorn.  Prices range from $4 - $13.  Coffee served nightly by Maui Coffee Roasters. Soft drinks will also be available.

Celestial Cinema is an alcohol-free venue.

Maui Film Festival is proud to offer recycling bins in which to place your cans, cardboard, plastic and glass containers.

 


How do I pay for food at Celestial Cinema?   top


Scrip, purchased with cash, is the currency used at Celestial Cinema for food.  There is an ATM on site.

 


Is food available at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center?   top


Yes, delicious food prepared by Café O Lei and Consuelos will be available in the Yokouchi Founders’ Court.  Call the MACC Box Office for specifics regarding time and menu at 808-242-SHOW.

 


What is the Attire for Films and Events?   top


Attire for all events is "Resort Wear", even for the Taste of Wailea, our signature event. Attire for films is casual. Evenings can be cool at Celestial Cinema. Bringing a sweater or light jacket will guarantee your comfort for the evening.

 


Are Minors Allowed at Special Events?   top


Guests under 21 years old are welcome to all Maui Film Events except for Starry Night MoonDance. Guests under 21 are welcome at Taste of Wailea in a designated alcohol-free area, accompanied by a parent or other responsible, ticketed adult.

Will tickets be available at the door?   top


Celestial Cinema will have door tickets available for $24 each, which grants entry for the entire evening.  Celestial Passes will also be available at the door for $88 – good for 4 admissions on any night.

Maui Arts and Cultural Center will have door tickets at $12 per film.

Special Events will have door tickets available unless they are sold out.  Please check our Special Events page on the website prior to event for status. 

 


Pass & Ticket Holder Admissions Policy    top


  • Admittance to the Starry Night MoonDance is limited to those 21 years of age or older. Guests under 21 are welcome at Taste of Wailea in a designated alcohol-free area, accompanied by a parent or other responsible, ticketed adult. 
  • Pass holders must arrive no later than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of all Special Events to guarantee admission, and at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of any Film or Panel to guarantee admission. Any pass holder arriving outside of the above noted time frame will be given priority admission on a space available basis, but can not be guaranteed admission.
  • Ticket holders must also arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of any Film or Tribute to guarantee admission.
  • Please be advised that rain or shine, and without exception, all Pass and Ticket sales are final and no refunds or exchanges will be made.
  • If lost, stolen or destroyed, Passes and Tickets will not be replaced.
  • Maui Film Festival staff and volunteers work year-round to ensure that a good time is had by all. That said, festival management, either directly or through its volunteers and staff, reserves the right to refuse admission to, and/or remove from any Festival screening, panel or special event, anyone whose actions are deemed troublesome and/or dangerous to other Festival attendees, guests, volunteers or staff.
  • Film, Panel and Special Event schedules subject to change without notice.
 
PLEASE NOTE:
Cameras and recording devices, including on occasion cellular phones with built in cameras, will not be allowed in Festival Event venues.
