The Maui Film Festival believes that the modern notion of 'celebrity' is yesterday's news.  

Instead, the Festival's Awards and Tributes are presented to honor film artists that we prefer to describe as Luminaries - those whose talent and work ethic place them in a category that transcends mere 'celebrity' and whose life's work - both on and off screen - generates as much light and inspiration as 'heat'.
