TIBET: A BUDDHIST TRILOGY
Originally presented during the Dalai Lama's first visit to the US in 1979, this is an epic impressionistic documentary, that is as much of an experience of surrendering to the images and rhythms of lives lived in simultaneous harmony with the physical and the spiritual, that captures both the spirituality and jumanity of monastic life. "Stylistically bold and hypnotically captivating... greatly helped by the chants that dominate much of the soundtrack." (LA Weekly). Unrated. 134 min.
