A brilliant tale starring Fernanda Montenegro ( Central Station) and her real-life daughter Fernanda Torres, about a group of settlers that arrives in a caravan at a labyrinth of sand in Maranhão, northern Brazil, and tries to start a new life in the desert. Variety raves is "told using sumptuous, wide-screen cinematography and hypnotic rhythms, magnificently renders a fresh view of life on planet Earth."
